Donkey Socks That Support Equine Rescue

Sweet donkey bamboo socks in navy blue featuring gentle donkey designs. Each pair contributes 10% of profits to Hope Pastures, a Yorkshire-based sanctuary providing rescue, rehabilitation, and lifetime care for donkeys and horses who've suffered neglect or abuse.

These aren't novelty socks that fall apart after a few washes. They're genuinely comfortable, well-made, and designed to last. The bamboo fabric feels luxurious, regulates temperature naturally, and stays fresh through long days.

Why Bamboo Works

Bamboo viscose creates exceptionally soft fabric with practical benefits cotton can't match:

  • Temperature regulation: Keeps feet cool in summer, warm in winter
  • Moisture-wicking: Draws sweat away from skin, preventing that clammy feeling
  • Naturally antibacterial: Resists odour-causing bacteria, stays fresher longer
  • Softer than cotton: Gentle on sensitive skin, no rough patches or irritation
  • Durable: Maintains softness and shape through repeated washing

The Conservation Impact

10% of profits from every pair goes directly to Hope Pastures. Based in West Yorkshire, they operate as a permanent sanctuary for rescued donkeys and horses, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation, and safe environments where these gentle equines can live out their lives with dignity.

Donkeys often suffer from misconceptions about their hardiness. They're sensitive animals requiring proper care, shelter, and companionship. Many arrive at Hope Pastures in poor condition, having endured neglect, inadequate housing, or abandonment when owners realise the long-term commitment involved.

Your socks support daily care costs, veterinary treatment including hoof care and dental work, facility maintenance, and the sanctuary's education programmes. Hope Pastures never rehomes their residents - once a donkey arrives, they have a guaranteed home for life, typically 30-40 years.

Responsible Manufacturing

Bare Kind produces these socks using certified sustainable processes:

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified: Tested for over 1,000 harmful substances. The finished socks contain no toxic residues that could irritate your skin.

SEDEX Audited: Factory conditions are independently verified to ensure fair wages, safe working environments, and no exploitation. Workers are protected and paid properly.

Closed-loop processing: The bamboo viscose manufacturing recovers and reuses chemicals rather than releasing them into waterways. Lower environmental impact, safer for workers.

100% recyclable packaging: No plastic anywhere. The packaging can go straight into recycling.

Care Instructions

  • Machine wash at 30°C (cold wash saves energy)
  • Wash with similar colours
  • Avoid tumble drying (air drying extends sock life)
  • No bleach or fabric softener needed

Fit & Sizing

These are gender-neutral socks designed to fit comfortably on most adults. The bamboo fabric has natural stretch and gives, conforming to different foot shapes without feeling tight or restrictive.

Available in UK adult sizes 4-7 and 7-11.

About Bare Kind

Lucy founded Bare Kind in 2018 with a straightforward mission: create quality socks that fund wildlife conservation. Each design in their collection supports a different endangered species through partnerships with specialist charities and research organisations.

Since launch, they've donated thousands to conservation projects worldwide. The model is simple: make socks people actually want to wear, and use the profits to protect the animals featured in the designs.
