Every Pair of Bare Kind Socks Gives Twice: The Border Collie Spot
Share
Every pair of Bare Kind Socks already carries a built-in promise: Bare Kind donates 10% to a range of animal charities. It is a promise we are glad to see kept. But at our volume of sales, spread across a long list of good causes, that amount does very little for any one of them.
So from today, we are adding a donation of our own.
A second donation, and a place close to home
Alongside Bare Kind's existing 10%, we are now donating a further 10% of the retail price of every pair sold directly to The Border Collie Spot, a rescue in Binfield, Berkshire. It is a separate commitment from us, on top of Bare Kind's own, and it goes straight to Gill White and the dogs in her care.
Who is The Border Collie Spot
The Border Collie Spot is run by Gill White, who has been rescuing border collies for 25 years. Many of the dogs that arrive at The Spot are former farm dogs, often neglected or worse, and Gill's approach has always been the same: no dog is rushed into a new home, and no dog is ever put to sleep, however long it takes for them to heal. Some stay with her for the rest of their lives, simply because their history has left them unable to trust anywhere else.
Gill named the rescue after her own border collie, Spot, the last of a litter she brought into the world by hand and who stayed by her side for fifteen years. Her network has since grown to cover the UK and Ireland, working alongside groups such as Animals In Need of Donegal to find the right home for every dog that passes through her care. The costs of running The Spot, including specialist veterinary treatment, are largely met by Gill herself.
Why this one is personal
Our second border collie, Buddy, came to us through The Border Collie Spot. Gill's patience and the courage of his rescuers, are the reasons he found his way into our home. It is the kind of quiet, unglamorous work that rarely gets noticed, and it felt right to put our support somewhere we have seen the difference it makes first hand.

What this means for you
Nothing changes about the socks themselves: the same bamboo, the same fit, the same quality you have come to expect. What changes is where more of your purchase goes. Buy a pair of Bare Kind socks, and alongside Bare Kind's own 10% donation, we now give a further 10% of what you pay to a rescue that has spent 25 years giving border collies like Buddy a second chance.
