The Grapefruit

Grapefruit peel oil (Citrus Paradisi) is cold-pressed from the rind and gives this balm its defining character: a clean, fresh citrus scent that is bright and pleasant on the lips without being medicinal or sweet. It carries naturally occurring Limonene, Citral, and Linalool, all declared on the INCI. The oil has mild antiseptic properties that are a useful addition to a lip and skin balm used throughout the day.

The base follows the same structure as the other Almighty Balms: castor oil for slip and staying power, mango seed butter and shea butter for rich nourishment, avocado and watermelon seed oils for absorption without heaviness, hemp seed oil for its calming quality on irritated skin, and rice bran wax for structure. A pea-sized amount warmed between the fingertips is enough for most applications.

What This Isn't

Grapefruit peel oil is photosensitising. Avoid applying to skin that will be directly exposed to strong sunlight, particularly on the face and lips before spending time outdoors.

The balm contains shea butter and mango butter, both tree nut derivatives. Consult a doctor before use if you have a confirmed nut allergy.
